What To Do If You Are Experiencing Abuse:
  • Develop an emergency escape plan in case you need to leave quickly. Click here to download a resource to help you create your escape plan.
  • Contact services in your area for more information on your options, and to get support. Our partner and host agency, Embrave: Agency to End Violence offers emergency support, and can be contacted at: (905) 403-0864
  • Get support from supportive people in your life, or contact services for individual and/or group counselling and/or call a crisis line. Click here for a list of emergency numbers.
  • Talk to someone about your legal options. Many shelters and counselling agencies can provide you advice or refer you to a lawyer.
  • Consider reporting to the police and applying for a restraining order or peace bond
