The Peel Committee Against Woman Abuse (PCAWA), founded in 1984, is a group of individuals representing various agencies in the Region of Peel.

Our mandate is to promote a comprehensive and effective response to the problem of Violence Against Women (VAW) in the Region of Peel.

Note that some PCAWA member agencies will use the term Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), Family Violence (FV) or Family & Intimate Partner Violence (F&IPV), or older terms such as Woman Abuse, Domestic Violence (DV), or other terms distinct from VAW, depending on mandates and policies within those agencies.
